Oh man...

I'll be performing at the DCC4N Presents: DC Comedy Fest auditions this Saturday. You can buy tickets here.

Here's the description of the show:

"The dccomedyfest is entering its fourth year and we're looking for the best comedy standup from DC and throughout North America. "A select group of DC's most hilarious stand up comedians will perform on a special audition showcase Saturday, April 12 at 8:00 p.m.. This great roster of performers will be auditioning for an opportunity to be at the New Talent Industry Showcase during dccomedyfest (Thursday, Aug 7) at the DC Improv for talent scouts from The Tonight Show, Chelsea Lately, networks, agents and more! But performers will also be considered for other slots in the festival, including Feature Shows and other special performance opportunities." The Line-Up: Jason Weems, Aparna Nancherla, Jay Hastings, Byrson Turner, Kojo Mante, Nick Turner, Larry Poon, John McBride, Tim Miller, & Hampton Yount."

I'm pretty excited about this show because all of the comedians are not only friends, but also really great performers.

rambling on the horizon

- I met up with my manager Nate Diamond about some "exciting" projects he has lined up including but not limited to the following:
* A Larry Poon hair brush promotional tour - Frankly, I'm not sure how I feel about this. For one I don't use a hair brush or a comb. I haven't in years. So, I'm not sure if it's a product that really suits me. Secondly who gives out hair brushes at shows? Who is the target audience for this? Who is like "yeah, I was thinking about staying in, but the hair brush give away sold me on going out".
* Universoul Circus - This one keeps getting batted around. Two years ago they paid me a lot of money to sit on a dying elephant for 90 minutes. ( I later wasted the money on gumballs...man I love gumballs. They remind me of when I used to be a kid and I would steal candy from the local Chabmart. By the way for all of your shopping needs...visit Chabmart. Home of the Chab sandwich.
* We're still shopping around for places to name an item on their menu after me. Arby's passed. McDonalds passed. Burger King passed. But, we're not giving up.
* I have a couple of friends working on a DVD project. I anticipate this project being completed by January 2013.

- Those are just a few of the things. If you check out my MySpace page you'll see a few additional videos have been added. Look for some more soon.

- My maid Mariettarnata had to take a leave of absence due to her fear of ghosts. Let me clarify that I do not have ghosts in my home. I have never seen a ghost traveling the halls of my home. There has never been a time where a ghost has asked me if I'd like some generic cola or a if I could spare a dollar. It hasn't happened. So I'm not sure why Mariettarnata is taking the leave. If anything she should work more since my place is ghost free.

- I don't like Guitar Hero. There I said it.

- I do however like 15 year old games that have the Baldurs Gate engine. And I'll play those games for hours upon hours...selling sword after sword just so that I can buy a sling shot with an Eleven name. That was too much information. I should have deleted that, but I didn't.

- I got my haircut last week by a small Asian woman who refused to talk to me. Usually there's a bit of small talk when I'm getting my haircut. And frankly I don't like the small talk, but the silence wasn't refreshing like I thought it would be. Instead I felt the need to make small talk so I asked her what type of scissors she was using. Who asks that?

Thanks

Thanks to everyone that came out last night for the "Intimate evening with Jim Marsdale and Larry Poon" at the DC Improv Lounge.

Marsdale and I decided to hit a few clubs after the show. I'm not going to say we hooked up with a couple of hot chicks, but we totally hooked up with a couple of hot chicks. We did a little club hopping too with some of the fans from the show and all in all it was a fun night.

Below are a couple of videos that debuted at the show.

THIS SATURDAY

I'll be at the DC Improv Lounge this Saturday. Tickets are going fast so I recommend buying them now at www.dcimprov.com

It's going to be a combination of video and stand up. You'll get a chance to catch a glimpse behind the scenes of Jim Marsdale's life and a sneak preview of my latest dance hit "Dance Party".

I don't want to brag nut it's currently being played on all four of Belarus's radio stations. That's a big accomplishment and one that hasn't been done since Rick Dee's Disco Duck was released in 1994. Well, his song was actually released in the 70's but it took a solid 15 to 16 years to hit the Belorussian airwaves.
